SPEAKER - JIM LOVE
Karen Dean introduced our speaker, Jim Love who joined us on Zoom. Jim has been with the Red Cross for 26 years - 10 years as Executive Director in Newark. After the 2014 realignment, Wayne county is under the umbrella of Greater Rochester again.
The Red Cross provides humanitarian aid as well as military support. Blood drives are a large part of Red Cross duties. Jim fondly remembered our own Bob Goodman and his support of Wayne county blood drives. Under military support, Jim had a special thank you to Frank All and Karen Dean for their participation in reconnection brunches.
Lucina reminded us of the April 20th blood drive in honor of Bob Goodman at the American Legion.
Donna Johnson remembers being in Haiti during Storm Gordon. So thankful for the Red Cross finding them and distributing fleece blankets.
Our next meeting will be on March 4th. This is an open meeting where we hear from all the Committee Chairs.
A PERSONAL SHOUT OUT TO HANNELORA ! We talked through our masks in Wegmans and she said she loves reading my newsletter since she can’t come to in-person meetings. She is my favorite Rotarian of the week!!
